As a Junior Finance & Controlling Manager (m/f/d) at Matchory, you will take ownership of all finance-related topics and play a key role in helping us scale sustainably and strategically. This position is an excellent entry point into a high-responsibility role in the finance function of a growing tech company. Whether you're a recent Master's graduate with relevant internship or working student experience, or you’ve already gained 1–2 years of professional experience in a finance-related role — this is your opportunity to actively shape and build the finance processes from the ground up.

You will work closely with the management team, support financial planning and reporting, and contribute to the optimization of our finance processes as well as our external funding activities. Due to the nature of the role, which includes communication with tax advisors, funding bodies, and other stakeholders, a very good command of German (min. B2) is essential, alongside fluency in English.

Controlling & Financial Planning

• Support the development and ongoing improvement of our financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes

• Create and maintain insightful dashboards and financial models for internal and external stakeholders

• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and support strategic decision-making with clear recommendations

• Assist in the preparation of reports for investors and support business planning activities

Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Coordinate with external tax advisors and accountants to ensure accurate and timely month-end closings

• Support the processing of invoices, as well as accounts payable and receivable

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and maintain clean financial documentation

Funding & Grants

• Research relevant public funding and grant opportunities (e.g., R&D, innovation funding)

• Support the preparation, submission, and follow-up of grant and funding applications

• Build and maintain relationships with funding bodies and relevant stakeholders

Process Optimization

• Analyze and optimize existing finance and reporting workflows

• Support the implementation of tools and automation to increase efficiency and transparency

• Help ensure our financial processes are scalable and future-proof as Matchory continues to grow
